Rock Addiction by Nalini Singh Blog Tour and Review

Cover:  Rock Addiction (A Rock Kiss Novel)

RELEASE DATE: September 9th, 2014

Blurb
A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

MY REVIEW:

WARNING:HOT  HOT  HOT!!

I think I’ve never said this before, but I’m a huge HUGE fan of nalini singh.Especially of her protective alpha males and strong minded heroines.I was really excited to read about rock addiction as it was very different from normal nalini books and I wondered whether it was going to be just as great as all her other ones. And believe me;it was that and more.Another hit by nalini singh! She has made me love her even more than I already do and that is a VERY difficult task.I loved the fact that she allowed us access to Fox’s mind as well as molly’s.It was interesting to say the least. The chemistry between them was WOW.The only problem I had was that with as little experience as Molly had,she went a little too easily with fox for my taste but I loved that fox was chasing after molly and not the other way round.I was getting tired of always reading books where the heroine is the one with the crush and embarrasses herself after the hero. The book is divided intio two parts, the first one where their relationship is a secret while the other one shows their struggle in the limelight with media attention.I thought that was really clever of Nalini as It provided a good contrast between the real world and their private lives.I totally went Awww at the ending. The secondary characters like Thea ,Charlotte and the other band members  all seem great and I’m hoping they’ll all have their own  stories too. This was a GREAT book and it was definitely worth the sleep I lost while reading it ;)

Excerpt from ROCK ADDICTION
by Nalini Singh

Fox hadn’t become the lead singer of one of the best-selling rock bands in history by being a shrinking violet. No, he went after what he wanted, no holds barred. And the raw promise he could feel between him and Molly? He had to know where it would lead, the need so strong he hadn’t felt anything like it since the day he’d figured out that music was his escape, the air in his lungs.
Which was why he was leaning against the wall beside Molly’s apartment at five that afternoon, a guitar by his side.
The elevator doors opened at a quarter after the hour, Molly going motionless two steps outside of it, the doors closing silently at her back. Yeah, she hadn’t expected him, but Fox was ready to work with that. Waiting patiently as she took a deep breath and completed the trek down the corridor, he drew in the scent of her, his gaze lingering on the fluttering pulse in her neck.
“How did you get past security?”
Fox smiled slowly at the blurted-out question, wondering if Molly knew how bad she was at hiding her emotions. He liked it, liked that he saw the real Molly, not an illusion she’d created to tempt him—not that she had to do anything but smile to tempt him. “I told you the security sucks.”
Unable to resist, he reached out to run his finger down one creamy cheek flushed with a mix of surprise, passion, and, he was certain, sweet, hot feminine anger. His guess was borne out when Molly unlocked her door with jittery hands and put down her handbag on one corner of the bench, her fingers trembling before she curled them into her palms. “You’re breaking the rules.”
“What rules?” Closing the door, he leaned back on it and willed her to face him. Much as he loved the shape of her from the back, he liked watching those expressive eyes whisper her mood to him.
Shoulders tight, she turned. “This was supposed to be a one-night stand.”
“Ah.” Folding his arms over the plain black of his T-shirt, he said, “How about a one-month stand instead?” He knew he had to play this exactly right. Molly was wary of him, and yeah, he could understand why. To have her in his life beyond a fleeting instant, he’d have to win her trust.
She jerked up her head. “What?”
“Why not? I like you. You like me.” He smiled—because the reason Molly had needed to jerk up her head was that she’d been staring at his chest. “Admit it.”
Sitting down on the bench, she began to unzip her boots, very obviously not looking at him. “You’re okay for a rock star.”
He wanted to bite her, then pet her until she was limp and languid in his arms. “We burn up together.” Deliberately modulating his voice—his instrument—for maximum effect, low and bedroom rough, he saw her fingers stutter on the zipper. “I’m here for a month. It’s an easy equation.”
When the words “Let me think about it” fell from her mouth, he thought she might’ve been as startled as he was, her lips parting on a slight gasp—as if to call back the declaration.

REVIEW:
I LOVED it!!It was even better than the first one and had a lot of depth too.It was really surprising and those of you who are curious about King;which means a LOT of people, this book will answer all your questions and will totally blow you away. This book made me fall in love with King all over again <3.Although I didn't really like Mia in the end and how she was behaving,King more than made up for it.A character I absolutely hated was Justin,I felt he was so selfish! He didn't think about Mia while Mia did everything to save him and get him out of trouble.I can't wait to read the last book.It is going to be amazing if its anything like this one.I so recommend this book to anyone who likes their books with mystery, paranormal and a splash of romance.

The Aetherfae (Weald Fae Journals#3)by Christopher Sheilds

TITLE:The Aetherfae(Weald Fae Journals#3)
AUTHOR:Christopher Shields
PUBLISHED:July 11th 2013
GENRE:Young Adult/Magic
RATING:★★★★★

SYNOPSIS
Maggie O’Shea is the lone witness to Ozara’s betrayal and murder of two Seelie Council members, and to Ozara’s treacherous alliance with the Unseelie leader, Zarkus. But will Maggie remember any of it?

REVIEW
This book was offered by the author in exchange for an honest review and after having read the last two books,I couldn't miss this wonderful opportunity.I wasn't surprised that I loved this book just like the previous ones.Firstly, the cover is beautiful.Secondly there were a lot of surprises and suspense. You felt like you knew what was going to happen but the author surprises you again and again. While reading this book I realized that every scene in the The Steward and The Changeling had some significance and everything told was not just a way to fill up the pages.Even the name(Weald Fae Journals)had a reason. This was the reason I really liked it.Even more new characters are introduced, some of them who really shocked me.Other than the main story, the author has given a real twist to Greek mythology which even though it does not play a major part of the story is really fun to read. There was a lot of action which started straight away and there was never a dull moment. We see that Maggie has matured a lot from the first book and has become even more powerful. There was a lot of suspense but due to some characters, the story was prevented from being too serious and was instead a lot of fun to read. This book kept me awake all night reading because I could not wait to know what would happen next.I think this was my most favorite book from the series and considering that I loved all of them, that is saying something. It was a great read and one that a person should absolutely try.I am now impatiently waiting for the next and last book in this series 'The Maebown' to come out.I will definitely be one of it's earliest readers:)

My Not So Super Sweet Life by Rachel Harris:Review

REVIEW:
Honestly,I've never been much of a fan of time traveling books, but Rachel has won me over. She has a very unique writing style.I especially love all the small little phrases that she uses, which make me enjoy her books all the more.Don't even get me started on how much I loved Lucas *swoon* and O.M.G,a man with dimples *sigh*.Cat was as strong as ever but I liked that we could see her vulnerable side too. Cat made me want to yell at her in one sentence while making me feel sympathetic the next.It was a roller coaster of emotions .I really liked one thing about Cat that she let out her emotions when it got too much. She's not like other heroines where they bottle it up and make the reader frustrated with how they suffer in silence.I love how well all the relationships were portrayed. This is a book that everyone should definitely read.

The Lost Pearl by Lara Zuberi

SYNOPSIS:

Everything changes for nine-year-old Sana Shah as she witnesses the horror of her father's assassination. she suffers through the pain of losing him, and realizing the worth of lessons learnt from him as Pearls of Wisdom. The tragedy forces Sana to leave her home in Pakistan, and traverse the globe to California. As time passes, she remains tormented by her memories as she struggles to rediscover her identity in a foreign land. Keen on pursuing journalism, she attends Stanford, where she meets a law student, Ahmer. They are drawn together by their cultural heritage, as well as their shared experience of having lost and endured. He becomes the source of her happiness, as well as the catalyst in mending her strained relationship with her family. As the story unfolds, however, their lives become intertwined in unexpected ways, creating obstacles that might be impossible to overcome.
Spanning nearly two decades, and set against a backdrop of landmark political events in both Pakistan and America in recent history, The Lost Pearl is an emotional tale about the strength of the human bond and the consequences of a truth left untold.

REVIEW:   (5-stars)

This is perhaps one of the most heartfelt books I have ever read.It had me near tears most of the time.Sana was nine year old when she witnessed the murder of her father.Such an event is enough to traumatize even an adult .She was a great character and instead of just giving up,she sought to find peace and justice for what happened to her father. I can't even begin to imagine what I would have done in her place.A thing that I really liked about this book was the very good description of Pakistan and the ideas that its people have, for example the mother worrying about her daughter's marriage even at a very young age.Its customs were very well described. In real life, there are a lot of misconceptions about Pakistan, this novel gives readers an idea about how not everyone in Pakistan is bad but instead they too suffer in the times of war.It clearly showed the differences between Pakistan and America and how life is in both of these countries. The reference to poetry was something that I really loved. It was a very interesting and captivating read, one which I recommend for everyone to read.

Seven Day Fiance by Rachel Harris:Review

Finally, here is my review for Seven Day Fiance!!

Author:Rachel Harris
Published:14th October 2013
Rating:★★★★

SYNOPSIS:
Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

REVIEW:
I was given this ARC for an honest review. This is the first book by Rachel Harris that I have read and I will definitely be reading the rest of them.I loved all of her characters but especially Cane.He is your typical bad boy ;with tattoos and a past, but he is sooooo Sweet!!!! Although the theme is one which has already been used like a million times already; The bad boy meets Good girl,it was still very charming due to the fact that it was so talently written.Seven Day Fiance is the story of Cane and Angelle, both of whom have their own secrets and demons to face.A thing I really liked about the book was the dual Point Of View.Another thing that I liked was that that the secrets were revealed early on in the book and the author did not keep the reader in suspense by dragging the book and only revealing everything at the end, which happens in most books. It helped me to understand the characters better and not always be confused about their actions which, believe it or not, happens a LOT.You should definitely give it a try.

Silverlighters #1 by L.M May

TITLE:Silverlighters#1
AUTHOR:L.M May
PUBLISHED:June 2013
PAGE COUNT:180 pages
GENRE:Young Adult/Paranormal
RATING:★★★

SYNOPSIS
Imagine if you found out everything you ever knew was a lie ...if you had to change your name and start over again, leaving everything you knew behind. If you found out those closest to you were part of the lie.

What if your memories had been stolen? The memories of the boy you loved. Of your very first kiss ... what would you do? How would you react? What if you found out he was the one that stole them from you.

How far would you go to protect those you love? What would you do to get them back? Only time will tell...

This is my story. I only hope I get to finish it before it is too late. Too late for you. Too late for me. Too late for all of us.

Because ... the end is coming, and I've been shown a glimpse of it.

You might think this is just a story. But it is real. It's already begun and you need to know what's coming.....

NOTE: This is part 1 of a series that is designed to be read in order. There are many layers to this story, and most books will have a clear beginning, middle and end, that wrap up nice and neatly. Book 1 and 2 are the exception as they set up the series. Part 1 has a naturally evolving cliff-hanger style ending, with a satisfying resolution to some questions raised. (As in – the book doesn't just stop in the middle of a chapter as some series do, putting your reading device at risk when you feel tempted to throw it across the room).

Because of the ending, I plan to get book 2 out as soon as is humanly possible so that the wait is not too long. It is in the final stages of editing and will be released late June or July.

Each part will be approximately 48 000 words. This is equivalent to around 150 kindle pages, or around 180 pages in a traditional style paperback.

Promotional price of $0.99 (ebook version)for a limited time only on Amazon for kindle here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DG6ZGRMand Smashwords here:https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

REVIEW
I was given this book by the author for an honest review and I really liked it.There was a lot of mystery and suspense and it left me with a lot of unanswered questions due to which I did get a little frustrated at times.Even by the end of the book nothing was clear.I felt that the author should have answered atleast some of the questions .The story was good. There were some similarities to Twilight but it was different enough that it didn't seem like a copy of it.It was still worth reading and I am looking forward to reading the next book:)People should give it a chance but if you don't like series then you should probably not read it or you should wait until all parts are published.

REVIEW
First of all,I am in LOVE with the cover!!!It was a great story and the authors writing style was good.It had mystery ,romance AND supernatural elements, what more does a person want???Once I started reading,I couldn't stop and finished it within 6 hours.I liked that it wasn't slow and had action too.I did see some similarities to Twilight but I don't think that it is a big issue because it wasn't as if she copied the scenes and lots of books nowadays have something similar to twilight. The characters were very interesting and each had really different personalities.Overall it was a great book and I recommend it to people who like to read paranormal romance. I'm looking forward to reading the next part in this series:)

Her life has been in extreme peril before, but never more so than now. Her younger brother, Mitch, has been kidnapped by a rogue band of Fae and the demand is simple: leave the Weald and her new life behind or else her brother dies. Now Maggie's on a breakneck race to save her brother, her family and friends, and perhaps all of humankind from a threat more insidious than anyone can imagine.

The Weald Fae Journals continue...

REVIEW
This book was given to me by the author for an honest review. This is the second book in The Weald Fae Journals Series and continues where The Steward left off.I already had great expectations from this book since I loved the first one and I wasn't disappointed. It was equally as good as,if not better than, The Steward. We see some new characters and old ones.I felt a lot of emotions while reading the book(including sadness, happiness and sometimes annoyance)and this shows what a great book it is.We see the main character Maggie learn new abilities and we see the determination she has for finding her brother.I liked that it wasn't always easy for maggie to do something and she didn't always win without help. This made the book seem more realistic. It was a great book and I recommend it to fans of Paranormal romance

SYNOPSIS
Maggie O’Shea expected the worst when her family relocated from the lively beaches of Boca Raton to the secluded forests of the Ozark Mountains. What she didn’t expect was a new beginning – one full of Fae, magical powers, dangerous physical and mental trials, and two surprisingly gorgeous young men. These aren’t the fairies you’re familiar with, but dangerous superpowers embroiled in an enduring struggle among themselves over the fate of all humanity. Some want to protect us, and others would love nothing more than to see us, and especially fifteen-year-old Maggie, dead and buried. Now, torn between her new duties as Steward of the most sacred Fae land and her burgeoning love for Gavin, a powerful Fae, Maggie must fight to protect her family, her friends, herself, and the fate of the entire world.

Join Maggie as she learns that fairy lore is not as far from the truth as she had believed, but neither is it anything like the tales in books or movies. As she navigates the treacherous schemes of the magical Fae, Maggie must become a quick study if she hopes to protect the lives of many, and possibly all, people from the insidious plot the Unseelie Fae have planned for centuries.

REVIEW:
I got the opportunity to read this WONDERFUL book on goodreads and let me tell you,I just fell in love with it.The Steward is the story of 16 yr old Maggie O'Shea who finds out that she is the next steward of the Weald, which has been in her family for more than a century. We follow her journey as she faces challenges and takes tests to determine her affinity to the elements along with deciding whether she wants to accept the responsibility of protecting the humans. The story is very well written with lots of descriptions and it even has some elements of romance in it.It shows that the author has put a lot of time on research. My favorite part about the book was that the magic and everything was explained using simple science. This made everything more believable. There was a lot of suspense and surprises which encouraged me to read faster.I never knew what to expect next. There was never a dull moment and I absolutely LOVED it!!!The other books in the series are just as great. The author has immense talent and his books are definitely worth reading:P.
